AUDITIONS for “Will They?”
Teatru Manoel is looking for Malta-based actors aged 16 or over to play the following characters in a new short play to be streamed online on Saturday 17th July 2021.
This is not a paid job but part of a project by Teatru Manoel’s Toi Toi Education programme and the Young Producers Project featuring The Daisy Collective which will give the chosen actors the experience and opportunity of performing a new work to camera.
Characters:
Dr. Quinn Farrugia, playing age 20-25 ~ Therapist, hardworking and dedicated to his/her job, a bit brash at times, moody
Taylor, playing age 20-25 ~ Therapist’s partner, clingy to his/her partner, easily offended, desperately craves attention from his/her partner
Sam, playing age 18-23 ~ Patient, protective of his/her mum, sensitive nature, has an impulsive behaviour
Auditions will be held at Teatru Manoel Studio Theatre
Sunday 11th April 2021: 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

Please send an email to education@teatrumanoel.mt by Monday 5th April 2021 and enter Will They Audition in the subject field. You will then be given an audition time after this date.
You need to prepare the excerpt from this document relating to the character you are auditioning for. You do not need to be off-script as the aim is simply so see how you imagine the character.
At the audition you will also be asked to cold-read a contemporary monologue which will be given to you on the day of the audition. This is to see how you handle directions.
Description
Will They? - by Greta Grech
Dr. Quinn Farrugia is a therapist struggling to balance his/her work and family life. But when Sam opens up about his/her troubling situation at home, Dr. Farrugia needs to put in extra hours in the office. His/Her partner, Taylor, isn’t happy about barely getting to spend much time with him/her.
Will Quinn and Taylor manage to save and rekindle their relationship?
Will Sam’s life return to normality?
