Description
Celebrations for St Cecilia's Day date back to the 17th century where whole days of musical performances were dedicated to the patron saint of music often with specially commissioned works by the foremost composers of the time. ViBE presents a programme of works by one of the greatest baroque masters Georg Friedrich Handel, including his Concerto Grosso in Alexander's Feast, and the Harp Concerto in Bb major, both written in 1736 as part of his 'The Power of Music' Ode to St Cecilia.
