Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Senior Manager (Operations) is responsible for allocated maintenance, works projects and Stage Management as well as ensures that delivery of all performances at the Manoel Theatre are efficiently supported. The Senior Manager (Operations) is responsible to ensure that regular building inspections and routine checks are made to ensure that all systems are statutory compliant, operational, and free from hazards.
The Senior Manager (Operations) supports the development and implementation of key operational and building management procedures to ensure that they are effective, represent best practice and are properly adhered to across the organisation. Furthermore, the Senior Manager (Operations) ensures that all health & safety policies, plans, procedures, rules and regulations are in place and adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assume overall responsibility for allocated maintenance, works projects and Stage Management. Ensures that delivery of all performances at the Manoel Theatre are efficiently supported.

Ensure that regular building inspections and routine checks are made to ensure that all systems are statutory compliant, operational, and free from hazards.

Supervising and coordinating the work conducted by Manoel Theatre staff or outside contractors including, amongst other things, works involving general building maintenance.

In co-ordination with the Facility Manager and the COO, is responsible for pest control prevention, fire alarm systems, lift maintenance, generator maintenance, climate control system maintenance, door access systems maintenance, CCTV maintenance, emergency light maintenance, fire extinguishers maintenance, waste management, stage equipment maintenance.

Act as first point of contact for recording and implementing appropriate responses for emergency repairs to the building, within agreed timescales.

In co-ordination with the Facility Manager and the COO, prepare and maintain a planned and preventative maintenance schedule that anticipates and incorporates future developments with the building, its grounds infrastructure, décor and other features, ensuring that adequate planning within budgetary provision is made for maintenance and repair works and that continuity of service is optimised.

Liaise with contract cleaning providers and other outsourced contractors, to ensure service level agreements are maintained.

Support the development and implementation of key operational and building management procedures to ensure that they are effective, represent best practice and are properly adhered to across the organisation.

Liaise with the Facility Manager and the COO, Teatru Manoel maintenance crew/other contractors and outside Production Houses Stage Builders when on site, ensuring that they operate safely (within Health and Safety Requirements and Risk Assessments) and in line with organisation procedures/stage rules and carrying out inspections of work along with the Facility Manager and the COO.

In co-ordination with the Productions and Communications Assistant Director and Senior manager Administration and HR, manage the environmental conditions within the building so that they satisfy the occupancy needs of visitors and staff.

In conjunction with the Productions and Communications Assistant Director, plan and organise best allocation of space and equipment to meet our operational requirements. key tasks and responsibilities & Health & Safety:

Ensure that all health & safety policies, plans, procedures, rules and regulations are in place and adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Establish and maintain a programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks providing statutory and information reports as required.

Ensure regular emergency equipment checks are conducted including fire and intruder alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.

In conjunction with the Productions and Communications Assistant Director, plan, carry out and review emergency evacuations procedures.

Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained in conjunction with Senior Manager Administration and HR.

Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and ensure that Manoel Theatre is compliant.

Ensure the implementation of effective facility and security management procedures across the building. Have in place and implement and a Security Policy.

Deliver building maintenance within the allocated budget and provide accurate forecasts for future maintenance spend.

Ensure that supplier invoices are accurate and are approved appropriately inline with financial regulations.

Deliver best value for money on all building related spend.

Any other duties as specified by the CEO.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
A recognised Master’s qualification at MQF Level 7 (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2008) in Operations Management or Public Administration or Project Management or Management and Leadership or Strategy or Business Administration or a comparable professional qualification, plus one (1) year relevant work experience.
OR
A recognised Bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6 (subject to a minimum of 180 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2003) in Operations Management or Public Administration or Project Management or Management and Leadership or Strategy or Business Administration or a comparable professional qualification plus three (3) years relevant work experience.
