Teatru Manoel is looking for a dynamic and experienced Marketing Coordinator to join its team working closely to realise the Theatre’s vision and mission.

Background

Built in 1731, Teatru Manoel, Malta’s National Theatre, is one of the oldest functioning theatres in the world. Besides its unique architectural value as a baroque theatre, it is also Malta’s national theatre and a main contributor to the development of the local cultural scene. The theatre is committed to entertain, inform and educate, to enrich the cultural life of the audience and to present quality artistic productions. It aims to build on tradition whilst pushing contemporary boundaries. As the National Theatre, Teatru Manoel also strives to be the people’s theatre, and is constantly seeking ways of welcoming in new audiences from all walks of life.

As a Theatre we strive to give opportunity and to help nurture local talent. We aim to be fair, equal and sustainable. We work towards diversity and inclusion, and towards the protection of the environment were possible. This is particularly done through the recycling of sets, scenery and props, and costumes. Services needed:

The Marketing Coordinator will be supporting Teatru Manoel’s Assistant Director – Marketing and Audience Development with maintaining and growing the Theatre’s presence online and with more traditional marketing strategies.

The Marketing Coordinator will assist in concept creation, content creation and general strategizing for growth in brand awareness and audience development. The Service Provider will also be responsible for maintaining Teatru Manoel’s online presence, assisting in the creation of PR material, video editing and creation of artwork, liaising with other service providers, basic procurement tasks, and media buying.

Flexibility will be of utmost importance from this Service Provider as his/her services will be needed during evenings and weekends.

The Marketing Coordinator will:

  • Upkeep all of Teatru Manoel’s social media pages on different platforms (Teatru Manoel, Toi Toi Education Programme, TMYT, Valletta Baroque Festival) – including ‘story’ creation for live events and rehearsals.
  • Boost social media posts through Facebook Business Suite.
  • Create content for social media, including regular content such as the Teatru Manoel Throwback.
  • Research for social media content.
  • Create a visual strategy for Instagram, and a cohesive tone-of-voice across social media platforms.
  • Design artwork / posters for social media distribution
  • Carry out general design work using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Edit showreels and promos on Premiere Pro.
  • Create production-artwork storyboarding and visualisation
  • Website updating
  • Liaising with suppliers (Videographers, Photographers, Agencies, etc)
  • Assisting the Assistant Director – Marketing with campaign creation and management
  • Assisting the Assistant Director – Marketing with other projects
  • Content and copywriting (Press Releases, articles for magazines, etc)
  • Prepare request for quotations.
  • Assist with Media Buying
  • Assist with setting up of TV & radio interviews, etc.
  • Assist with Press Conference organisation
  • Any other relative tasks as may be asked by the CEO.

Person Specification

  • In possession of a pertinent first degree at MQF Level 6 in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Equivalent plus two (2) years relevant work experience; 
  • A clear commitment to and knowledge of the work Teatru Manoel;
  • Extensive knowledge of the performing arts sector;
  • Exceptionally organised and methodical, with strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Maltese;
  • Content and copywriting experience;
  • Efficient and self-motivated with excellent planning skills, with the ability to deal with multiple tasks at once;
  • Ability to act on own initiative but also to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships;
  • Personable and a highly confident communicator, with the ability to maintain good relationships with a wide range of people; 
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage a busy and changeable schedule;
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a positive and creative attitude towards problem solving;
  • Computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications and using Macintosh computers and apps
  • Video editing skills
  • Skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Wix, Wordpress, Mailchimp and Final Cut Pro
  • SEO knowledge & knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Ads
  • Experience using Facebook Business Manager, and Creator Studio
 
Contract for Service terms

Payment: Monthly retainer of €1667.67 excl. of VAT

Contract: This is a one-year ‘Contract for Service’ that has the possibility of being renewed for a another year.

Hours: 40 hours, flexible, according to Teatru Manoel’s needs. Hours can be allocated during evenings and weekends.

Mibni fl-1731, it-Teatru Manoel, it-Teatru Nazzjonali ta’ Malta, huwa wieħed mill-eqdem teatri li għadu jopera fid-dinja. Minbarra l-valur arkitettali uniku li għandu bħala Teatru fi stil Barokk, huwa wkoll it-Teatru Nazzjonali ta’ Malta u kontributur prinċipali għall-iżvilupp tax-xena kulturali lokali. It-teatru huwa impennjat biex jinform, jeduka, joffri divertiment, jsaħħaħ il-ħajja kulturali tal-udjenzi u jippreżenta produzzjonijiet artistiċi ta’ kwalità. Għandu wkoll l-għan li jibni fuq it-tradizzjoni filwaqt li jesplora binarji kontemporanji. Bħala t-Teatru Nazzjonali, it-Teatru Manoel jaħdem biex ikun it-teatru talk-poplu, u dejjem ifittex modi biex jilqa’ udjenzi minn kull aspett tal-ħajja.

Il-Kordinatur tal-Marketing ikun qed jappoġġja lill-Assistant Direttur tat-Teatru Manoel fuq Marketing u Tkabbir tal-Udjenzi, billi jżomm u jkabbar il-preżenza tat-Teatru onlajn u bl-użu ta’ strateġiji tal-marketing aktar tradizzjonali.

Il-Kordinatur tal-Marketing ikun mitlub jgħin biex jinħolqu kunċetti u kontenut u fil-bini ta’ strateġiji għal aktar għarfien mill-pubbliku dwar it-teatru u tkabbir tal-udjenzi. Is-Service Provider ikun responsabbli wkoll biex iżomm il-preżenza onlajn tat-Teatru Manoel ħajja, jassisti biex jinħoloq materjal tal-PR, video editing u joħloq artwork, jitħaddet ma’ service providers oħra, jagħmel xi xogħol bażiku ta’ procurement u media buying.

Il-Kordinatur tal-Marketing ikun qed:

  • Jieħu ħsieb il-paġni soċjali kollha tat-Teatru Manoel li għandu fuq pjattaformi differenti (Teatru Manoel, Toi Toi Education Programme, TMYT, Valletta Baroque Festival) – fosthom il-ħolqien ta’ ‘stories’ għal avvenimenti live u provi.
  • Boosting tal-midja soċjali permezz ta’ Facebook Business Suite.
  • Joħloq kontenut għall-midja soċjali, inkluż kontenut regolari bħal ‘Teatru Manoel Throwback’.
  • Riċerka għall-kontenut tal-midja soċjali.
  • Joħloq strateġija viżwali għal Instagram u tonalità koeżiva fuq il-pjattaformi soċjali.
  • Jiddiżinja artwork / posters għall-midja soċjali.
  • Xogħol ieħor ta’ disinn bl-użu ta’ programmi bħal InDesign, Illustrator u Photoshop.
  • Joħloq showreels u promos fuq Premiere Pro, jew programmi simili.
  • Jgħin fil-ħolqien ta’ storyboarding u viżwalizzazzjoni għall-artwork tal-produzzjonijiet.

  • Jipprepara sejħiet għal kwotazzjonijiet.

Pagament: Retainer ta’ €1,667.67 mingħajr VAT, fix-xahar (€20,000 fis-sena)

Kuntratt: Kuntratt għas-Servizz ta’ sena, li jista’ jiġġedded għal sena oħra.

Sigħat: 40 siegħa fil-ġimgħa, b’ħinijiet flessibbli, skont il-bżonnijiet tat-Teatru. Is-sigħat jistgħu jkunu allokati wkoll filgħaxijiet u fi tmiem il-ġimgħa.
