VACANCY: Senior Manager (HR and Administration)
As Malta’s national theatre, the Manoel Theatre is to entertain, inform and educate, thereby enriching the cultural life of the audience as well as to provide a platform for artists to excel in their talents. It is committed to the presentation of quality artistic productions, to the creation of new audiences for music and drama genres, and to provide a principal platform for local and international artists.

The Manoel Theatre is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager (HR and Administration).

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the chosen candidate would be responsible to:

  • Maintaining and updating policies and procedures of the company;
  • Capacity to create strategies that ensures employee benefits and contractual obligations;
  • Taking on a performance management role and monitor and review the work of the employees;
  • Liaising with department managers in order to set key performance indicators;
  • Closely monitor strategies to ensure implementation and strengthen performance at work;
  • Create a supportive environment by coordinating motivational initiates for social and team-building events;
  • Keep employees informed of all the policies and procedures of the company through strong communication skills;
  • Managing of all recruitment requirements and reviewing of human resource requirements;
  • Dealing with Grievances and Disciplinary action;
  • Taking care of the payroll of the Company;
  • Dealing with Unions;
  • Apply and utilise EU funding processes in order to invest in training that can be provided to Teatru Manoel employees;
  • Dealing with People and Standards Division;
  • Conduct yearly performance appraisals for all Teatru Manoel Employees;
  • Establishing employees training needs and keeping records of employee training;
  • Establishing and maintaining of training budget in liaison with Finance and CEO;

The successful candidate must possess:
 
A recognised Master’s qualification at MQF Level 7 (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2008) in in Human Resources, Management, Public Policy, Business Management or a comparable professional qualification, plus three (3) years relevant work experience of which one (1) year must be in a management position comparable to Scale 8 level or higher in the Public Service;

OR

A recognised Bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6 (subject to a minimum of 180 ECTS/ECVET credits, or   equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2003) in in Human Resources, Management, Public Policy, Business Management or a comparable professional qualification, plus five (5) years relevant work experience of which one (1) year must be in a management position comparable to Scale 8 level or higher in the Public Service.

  • Work and experience in EU Funding will be considered as an asset;
  • Pro-active and able to work on own initiative;
  • Strong Maltese and English language skills;
  • Knowledge of the cultural field;
